I had put one sand and water wheel from Galt America on my son’s birthday wish list, but recieved a DIFFERENT sand and water wheel instead (this one), it was a shipping error by Galt. Rather than shipping it back and having to PAY for the shipping to send it, I decided to keep it, and it has been ok even though it was not the toy I originally had selected. He enjoys playing with it and so, it has not been that big of a deal. The toy is sturdy except for the drain stopper at the funnel. That part is going to break off I imagine. The stickers will not stay nice looking for long. I don’t know why a toy that was designed for water and sand play would have stickers on it. The water wheels are a little stiff and don’t turn as easily as I think they should, but my son does not seem to mind.

We bought this toy for use in a sandbox. Our grandson filled the top of the wheel with sand and everything worked for about two minutes. Then the sand gummed up the wheels so that they would no longer turn–Very disappointing!

Kids really enjoy it, but the top gear just won’t turn except by hand (and even then it doesn’t turn easily). The way it’s constructed, not really any way to fix it easily. The bottom gears work fine, but the top one is pretty much for show…nevertheless they love the bottom feeder that rocks back and forth changing the water flow, so they’re enjoying it.
